چکیده

Different fields and disciplines in Science and Technology are imposing more stringent and accurate measurements of the proton and neutron total and differential cross-sections in the intermediate-energy range, from a few dozens of MeV up to a few GeV. Such measurements could be performed in facilities disposing of proton or light ion beams (namely facilities to produce Radioactive Nuclear Beams) or of neutron beams (spallation source facilities). In order to assess the availability of these facilities and the feasibility of experiments leading to the measurements previously mentioned, a survey and compilation study was performed in the framework of the Intermediate Energy Nuclear Data (IEND) project of the Nuclear Science Committee (NSC) of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA). The results of this study are compiled in this paper. Five tables summarise the main parameters (the accelerator systems, the characteristics of the primary and secondary beams, of the targets, etc.) of existing facilities as well as of facilities currently being designed, commissioned, under construction, or still being approved.

Energy and angle differential cross sections

Energy and angle differential cross sections for the electron-impact double ionization of helium are calculated using a non-perturbative time-dependent close-coupling method. Collision probabilities are found by the projection of a time-evolved nine-dimensional coordinate space wavefunction onto fully antisymmetric products of spatial and spin functions representing three outgoing Coulomb waves...

Fully quantal (γ, 2e) calculations for absolute differential cross sections of helium

Abstract The formulation of the time-dependent close-coupling method is extended so that energy and angle differential cross sections for the double photoionization of helium may be obtained. The fully quantal method now yields absolute total integral, energy differential, and angle differential cross sections. A detailed comparison is made with the absolute synchrotron measurements of Bräuning...

Comparison Between the SMM and GEMINI++ De-Excitation Models

Nuclear de-excitation codes can be coupled to intranuclear-cascade models to provide coherent and comprehensive descriptions of spallation reactions above ∼150 MeV. This paper discusses the coupling of the Liège Intranuclear Cascade model with two different de-excitation codes: the Statistical Multifragmentation Model and GEMINI++. We present a selection of the results of the simulations that h...

Triple differential cross sections for the double photoionization of H2.

Triple differential cross sections arising from the break up of the H2 molecule by a single photon are presented. The time-dependent close-coupling technique is used to calculate differential cross sections for various geometries. Excellent agreement is found between current work and recent exterior complex-scaling calculations, confirming, for the first time, the absolute magnitude of the trip...

Single and double ionization in C6+ + He collisions

Singleand double-ionization processes in C6+ collisions with the He atom at an incident energy of 100 MeV/amu are studied by direct solution of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. A time-dependent close-coupling method based on an expansion of a one-electron three-dimensional wave function in the field of He+ is used to calculate single-ionization cross sections. A time-dependent close-cou...

The evolution of the triple differential cross sections

Abstract We use the time-dependent close-coupling method to explore the triple differential cross sections produced by double photoionization of He and H2. Recent extensions of our technique have allowed extraction of the triple differential cross section as the double photoionization process evolves, allowing further exploration of the underlying mechanisms. We demonstrate that the angular dis...
